Laura Davies feeds his legend by winning the Women’s Open in Spain
English golfer Laura Davies has been awarded the 2010 Women’s Open in Spain, held at the Flamingos Golf with a card of 202 strokes ahead of American Christina Kim and Rebecca Hudson of England, which supposed to win 76 of their number career and fourth this season, after those achieved in New Zealand, Germany and Austria.
Davies, who had premonizado victory before the tournament on the Costa del Sol, gave no options to their opponents and from the outset was established in the top positions to finally get his win number 76. The Spanish María Hernández, the leader after the first day, finished a good fifth place with 205 strokes.
The 47 year old golfer, whose personal goal to get win 100 tournaments, was elated and grateful after the victory. “It was one of the most enjoyable victories of my career. I felt very comfortable here, with many people following my game, I want to especially thank,” he said.
For its part, the Spanish claimed a fifth place is to be “happy” despite having started with a good card that allowed him to pull himself up to the top at the start of the tournament. “I’m glad it has been a good week, to a great start and a good ending.” Continue Reading »
