Stoner gives no truce or boiled
Stoner could not handle the pace set by the Honda of Stoner after the first two practice sessions at Silverstone. Lorenzo finished third in the first and fifth after the second free-boiled, after Simoncelli, Hayden and Cruchtlow.
Casey Stoner (Honda) dominated the first two practice sessions of the Grand Prix of Great Britain, Silverstone, both in the morning with the track dry and wet in the afternoon.
After the rain began to fall during training of 125 cc and stopped during the MotoGP, but left the track with plenty of water, no pilot lowered his time to the opening session.
The MotoGP World Champion, Jorge Lorenzo, but was third in the first, the second could not get past the fifth place behind Stoner, his top rival in the championship lead after five races, Marco Simoncelli (Honda ), Nicky Hayden (Ducati) and Cal Cruchtlow (Yamaha).
Stoner had already set the pace and was first with Lorenzo third. Between them, Simoncelli (Honda) with a time of 2:04.407 to 2:03.748 2:04.756 Australian and Spanish.
Another Spanish, Hector Barbera (Ducati) had set the eighth fastest time with 2:06.158, ahead of compatriot Alvaro Bautista (Suzuki), ninth in 2:06.274. Toni Elias (Honda) was fourteenth with 2:07.616.
With the wet pavement, Stoner took twelve seconds to dry, 2:15.666, 2:16.463 Simoncelli and who led the second session several times, alternating with the Australian.
For his part, Valentino Rossi was not even close to the fastest and was relegated to ninth place, away from his teammate, Hayden, on water and the twelfth week dry.

There was a time when the British riders dominated the Grand Prix. Geoff Duke, Mike Hailwood, Phil Read, John Surtees, Barry Sheene, to mention only the largest, proudly paraded the Union Jack on the podiums of half the world, adding 31 titles between them five myths of motorcycling. But the British laurels withered long ago in the circus than two wheels, especially in the premier class, where a Briton has not won since Barry Sheene in Anderstop did in the distant 1981.
Spanish has become with the latter in the national pilot with more poles of history with 43, surpassing by one the legendary Jorge Martinez ‘Aspar’, who held the record until now. Daniel Pedrosa left behind with 35, Angel Nieto with 34, and Ricardo Tormo with 23.
The Spanish Dani Pedrosa (Honda RC 212 V) recognized before leaving for Portugal, where this weekend will host the third Grand Prix of the MotoGP 2011 season he did not know “how I will be in Estoril” he said.
He has said the world champion. The Spanish is clear that his main rival will be neither beat nor Rossi Pedrosa, but Casey Stoner. Lawrence recognizes that need to risk the most in every competition and will not have improved on his bike for another six months.
